Fanfare for the Little Green Man

This brief piece was originally intended to part of a larger, multi-movement work whose movements were to be inspired by other works of art inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest. After the commission fell through, I stopped work on the piece, but released this and Chorale Trio (Prayer to Prospero) as standalone works. Fanfare for the Little Green Man shares some musical material with Chorale Trio, and is inspired by Dan Simmons’ novels Ilium and Olympos, in which Prospero is the avatar of the self-aware, post-Internet logosphere, and rules over the Little Green Men of Mars.
