I’ve finally settled on a title for the Staunton Festival cycle: echoes. As usual, I chose the title from the text of one of the poems in the cycle, namely “conspiracy”.
The song order will be as follows:
1. Kenneth’s death
2. translating Garcia Lorca
3. people shouting
4. inevitable
5. perfect
6. from the dead
7. conspiracy
I’m two songs away form finishing, and intend to have it done by the end of this week. I’ve fairly flown through the cycle, generally writing a song in a single day. The cycle has been composed almost exclusively away from a piano, at tables at the New York Library for the Performing Arts and the 86th St. Starbucks.
Over the next few months, I’ll be working to streamline the site by migrating it to PHP. You’ll notice that already the pages have “.php” extensions in preparation. I’ve got a few nifty little PHP things happening to make my life simpler, but that haven’t changed the appearance at all.
You’ll also notice that I’ve added a few more options to the navigation bar. I’ve finally got the message board/forum up and running, so I’ve linked that. The look of the forum isn’t in its final form, but I’ve decided to put it up now and allow it to evolve over time.
The other additional navigation option is the storefront for the Tobenski Music Press (now officially registered with ASCAP), which I’ll be working on later this summer.
Also new to the site is the recording for “Letter from a Young Poet” from the 3 May 2008 Tobenski-Algera Concert. Check it out!
